VII Summer School on Human Rights (2019)

VII Summer School on Human Rights “Protection of human rights is the basis for achieving sustainable development goals in the 21st century” will be held from 24-28 June 2019 by Perm State National Research University in cooperation with the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights and the authorities of the Perm Territory.

The Summer School is a mandatory event in the framework of the inter-university Master Program “International Protection of Human Rights”, carried out by the Consortium of Russian universities with the support of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The VII Summer School will focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of human rights in their implementation.  The SDGs are the result of the largest consultative process with the largest number of participants in the history of the United Nations.  Based on international human rights law, the SDGs, as an agenda in the interests of “people, the planet, prosperity, peace and cooperation”, greatly contribute to the enjoyment of human rights throughout the world without discrimination.
